2011 Avendano Junior Polo Tournament

The International Polo Club is proud to host, along with the Avendano Family and Patagones Polo, the Polo Training Foundation’s 2011 Avendano Memorial Junior Polo Tournament. The “Avendano” is one of the largest junior polo tournaments in the country and dates back to 1982. Polo icons such as Luis Escobar and Julio Arellano made their tournament debut as junior players in this tournament. With the use of IPC’s superior fields, and advanced tournament organization along with the help of generous volunteers and contributors, this year’s tournament should be a pleasure for parents and a blast for kids who play.
This year’s Avendano is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 21 on President’s Day, a school holiday. We hope to provide all kids with an additional day of polo before Monday as well. In order to have teams, fields, game staff and all the other logistics in place, we ask that you please enter your child or children by 5:00 pm no later than February 14. To enter, please call the Junior Polo Hotline at 561-794-8400 or email floridajrpolo@yahoo.com. In addition to phoning or emailing, out of town entrants should mail entries to the PTF: 70 Clinton Street, Tully, NY 13159. Your child must be at least a Junior Member of the USPA. Membership is available at www.uspolo.org. The tournament entry fee is $100 per child. Each child will be placed on a team with his/her peers by the Avendano Team Selection Committee. Once teams and schedules have been coordinated, players and their parents will be notified where and when they play. It is our goal to have a well organized, fun and fair tournament where all the kids have a great time. We want everyone to enjoy Junior Polo-as it is our future.

Levels of competition – lead line, walk-trot, intermediate, advanced
Players must be at least student members of the USPA
