Club League Polo:
This is a series of one week tournaments running April through October to promote a friendly but competitive atmosphere while having fun. Family members are also encouraged to come to games and cheer for their family while enjoying the amenities of the beautiful club. League Polo is free to SBPRC Annual members. Players from other clubs are always invited to play for the monthly rate of $4,300.00 or $65.00 per chukkar and $35.00 a chukkar for youth.
PTF Umpire Clinic with Dale Schwetz and Rick Sears June 3-5:
Get up to date and all of your umpiring questions answered with Dale and Rick. Learn about new rules, interpretations, video footage of actual game conditions to explain fouls and a whole lot more! Spend time in the Arena and on the field. This is a “Hands on Learning Experience”. Don’t miss this chance to learn from the best. LINFOOT 2 Day Clinic: #1 June 18-19 #2 August 20-21
Beginner players can take advantage of a clinic hosted by Corky Linfoot! Corky is well known for his riding and polo playing skills. He is skilled at giving beginners the knowledge and tips to move into the sport. If you have friends or family who have expressed an interest in polo this is a great opportunity give them their first taste of the game with an experienced instructor (all ages are welcome to participate). Corky will provide instruction on basic riding skills over the two days Corky will focus on combining the riding and hitting lessons with experience on the field, running through drills and coaching during practice chukkars. $500.00 provide your own horse-$700.00 Horse provided
Spring Inter-Club Challenge:
Teams from other clubs in California are invited to enjoy the ocean setting in Santa Barbara, and play for a weekend against our SB polo team. These matches will be six-chukkar polo on Saturdays and Sundays for only $65 per chukkar, stabling is extra. Available all season long.
Coaching League:
New this year, the coaching league is designed to be a friendly, safe environment for new players to learn the basics of outdoor polo, or for returning players who want to have more instruction and rule interpretation than is available in the club chukkers. Coaching league sessions are Saturday afternoons May- June, Sept- Oct. Instructors are provided. Cost is $300/ session, or $85/ chukker, discounts are available on the Santa Barbara Coaching League facebook page
Polo Training Foundation 2011 Summer Camp Session#1 July 19-24 Session#2 July 26-31
Head Instructor Robin Sanchez will produce a week long sleep-over camp. PTF is proud to bring this program to Santa Barbara- your child will learn Sportsmanship, horsemanship, teamwork, horse care, etc. This program will also offer an evening of Tennis, a swim party, and a beach fun day. Summer 20 Goal- Better Than Ever:
Eight teams will be in Santa Barbara during July and August competing in four exciting 20 goal tournaments, leading up to the prestigious USPA Bombardier Pacific Coast Open. This year promises to be the most competitive year ever, with worldclass players and ponies battling for polo glory on the Santa Barbara fields. Make sure you are here in Santa Barbara on Sept 4 to see the finals of the Bombardier PCO- if you only see one polo match a year this is the match to see.
Fall 8 goal Season
Our series of four fall tournaments will be played once again in September and October and we expect at least 6 teams will participate. Fall is one of the best times to play in SB with cool clear sunny days and mild ocean breezes.
