The 4th annual USPA Green Cup, a creation of Capitol Polo Club of Maryland, will be held on June 27th on the club grounds. The Green Cup, a USPA sanctioned exhibition match, is being held to raise awareness of environmental issues with proceeds to benefit 3 Washington DC area non-profit environmental organizations: Equestrians Partners in Conservation, American Council on Renewable Energy, and EarthEcho International, a Cousteau Foundation.
The Green Cup is the first ever certified Green polo event on the east coast. It met this criterion by implementing green principles into every level of the event planning process.
Sponsors include the Beck Family, British Airways, Citibank, Hudson Restaurant, Red Bull, and the Solena Group.
The polo match will be followed by the Eco Fashion Show, produced by Lola Ink Media, featuring the world’s top eco friendly designers., models, and entertainers. These include Dalia Mac Phee, Leanne Mai-Ly Higart, Samantha Pleet, Didi, and the Brazilian Girls.
