I am not sure you watch the Olympics but there is a Jamican Named Bolt who makes Big Brown look slow in the 100 and 200 meter races he is there and then bolts away from the fastest people in the world well Fred Mannix has that zip that he is caught and then bolts away with super hand speed if he had horses that could bolt like him it would be scary as he is soooo quick. Anyway round one is done and the PCO is under way Bigger and better than it has been in this century so far the weather dynamic the grounds ok and the Umps well there here but 8 teams are in line and only one maybe a little light and they had the unfortunate task of facing Audi in the first round and it was a morning exercise as Grand/Klentner was put away by the 24 goal team quite easily and also at 10 a.m. in smashing views of the San Ynez valley @ Piocho Ranch after a great breakfast it was on to a very good field and a repeat of last Sunday 2 games in one as ERG just kicked the U know what out of Lucchese for 3 chukkars same score and all 8 to 3 at 1/2 time then the 4th started which has been a horrible chukkar this year for Lucchese but not today as the White and Blue of Big John’s started quick and won the 4 th by 1 and then the 5th by 4 to 0 and it was a brand new ball game all tied up and outstanding plays by Muse, Weise and the Palomino set former 10 goal superstar Carlos Gracida up up and away as he rolled em in like dominoes and Lucchese rolled to a 1 goal win for there first of 08. It was a great game and a tough ERG with Martine Munoz replacing the injured Patron Scott Woods . After all this Piocho Ranch’s first class service supplied a super BBQ of Tri Tip for everyone and everyone headed south or east to SBPC where defending Champs Zacara were meeting MR Walker and Long Beach . Mr Lea after last Suday’s finals loss had little patience for wandering around action was the name of the game and the ends of Zacara set up the Rocket Ruki often as headed to goal with his usual precision for 4 in the first 1/2 and the boys in Black never looked back as they set a w by there side quickly with excellent play from Santi and Lyndon and the last one expected to be the best one of the day was Grants Farm vs super host Piocho Ranch just never materialized as Fred and Jeff just controlled to much of the play and a great effort by young Cachi Garcia and a steady back of AB controlled the flow all day except a 4th that seen splashes of the Old as Memo stick& balled around the youngsters to get within 1 or 2 before wake up call went out and so did Piocho as Jeff and Fred returned to sender several times in the 5th to put it away. Sunday is a big day again with 4 ganes as again it all starts up @ the Ranch where you will enjoy the heavenly service of Breakfast in bed as Audi takes on Long Beach who better hope that Audi eats to many waffles and @ SBPC its Piocho meeting the boys in Black from Zacara where there will be some fireworks then Lucchese takes on Grand Champion at 1 and then for the final game of the day its Grants Farm vs ERG which may have a double sub as Scott Woods is out and now 9 goaler Paco D is not exactly laughing as he has some very sore ribs and may have to be on the sidelines . To the south its party time as the Spreckles 6 heads to a showdown with at least 3 teams still in the runnin and we will update as soon as we can .
On a sad side up in Sacramento Polo Scott Westly Malek a 2 goal player was severly injured in a match latley and is currently in a coma our thought go out to him and his family that all comes out ok but its never a nice place to be so say a little prayer for them .
Back east it was West coast Mansour and the Carpetman runnin into a buzz saw named Facundo Pieres as he blazed a familar Pieres trail over them as Black Watch is headed to the medal round big Ben has a chance however through the back door now . White Birch and Black Watch are in the semis now with 2 holes to fill.
