The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

Not only was Dorrie an incredible attractive woman, she was also a champion of polo on the field,  in the social circles and above and beyond with the polo people. I have known Dorrie since the 80’s when we first met at the L.A. Equestrian Center. It was not hard to meet her. Dorrie was so pretty you wanted to meet her and she was always friendly, even though she was as sexy and pretty as any. In the front 3 rows of Griffin Park, home of LA Polo, and it was here she made her mark pushing the game to the elite and this is where CA polo grew to what it was a decade ago. This is what the sport of polo needs again.  People like Dorrie made it happen. No one could resist her champion smile and lure to make a person want to try the game and they did. Her influence was a lot of the reason why we became the biggest circuit in the USPA.

Dorrie also played polo and won a ton from the 0-goal level to 12-goal and maybe even an 18-goal. Her Team Name RISKY BUSINESS told it all. She was extremely athletic and could do gymnastic type things at her age that would blow 16 year old’s minds. Dorrie’s love for horses probably shortened her life considerably as she was paralyzed by a young horses playfulness in a paddock in WY where she was raising baby’s to play the game and was just out enjoying them in their environment when it happened. A playful kick in the back that turned out disastrous to the Golden Beauty. She has been in a wheelchair for several years, but never missed a polo season that I know of  and was always there supporting the game. Dorrie we will miss you and that amazing smile and when you get up there tell Eric F. that he needs to comb his hair and look neat.

WE WILL MISS YOU GORGEOUS!!!
