Aiken, SC – 302 Polo presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta is pleased to announce that the United States Polo association has awarded the USPA Monty Waterbury tournament to New Bridge Polo for the 2008 season. By virtue of their association with the 302 Polo cooperative New Bridge and 302 Polo presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta will be hosting both the USPA Monty Waterbury and the USPA Silver Cup this fall.

The dates of the USPA Monty Waterbury will be September 19 through October 5th, with the finals of this very prestigious event to be held at New Bridge Polo on October 5th. It will be followed nation’s oldest tournament, the USPA Silver Cup presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta hosted by 302 Polo presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta which begins its second appearance in Aiken on October 3 and concludes with the finals on October 19th at Meadow Hill Farm. The USPA Silver Cup is an NAPL (North American Polo League) event, the North American Polo League being polo’s equivalent of NASCAR!

The fall season of 302 Polo presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta will also feature one of the nation’s largest ladies tournaments, USPA Aiken Ladies Invitational presented by Maverick Communications benefiting the National Breast Cancer Foundation with the finals match on September 27, 2008 at Meadow Hill Farm. The pavilion tent for this event has been generously underwritten by Alan and Mindy Meeker of Crestview Farm Polo team. Funds from this event underwrite a program to provide free mammograms to women with no health insurance throughout the CSRA via the mobile mammography unit of University Hospital of Augusta, Georgia.

The fall season continues with two highly competitive and prestigious sixteen goal tournaments. The first being the USPA Northrup Knox Cup presented by the Aiken Standard honoring the memory of one of Aiken’s polo greats, Norty Knox. This event is followed by the USPA Continental Cup presented by Sundowner of Aiken.
