Four first chukker goals from Enigma (Jerome Wirth, Jeff Hall, Matias MacDonough and Carlucho Arellano) dug a hole for Audi (Marc Ganzi, Lucas Lalor, Nic Roldan and Fred Mannix) from which they never recovered as they lost their first game in Ylvisaker cup action, 16-10.

Carlucho Arellano scored the first goal of the match after nearly three minutes of play, 1-0.  Jeff Hall followed it up with back to back goals of his own, 3-0.  With 32 seconds on the clock, an Audi penalty sent Arellano to the penalty line where he converted a 40-yard shot that ended the first chukker with Enigma in front, 4-0.

With the Audi defense still spinning from the opening chukker blitz, Matias MacDonough made it 5-0 on a goal from the field in the opening 40 seconds of the second period.  Macdonough added a second goal three minutes later as Enigma took control of the game behind a 6-0 lead.  With 1:38 left in the chukker, Lucas Lalor scored on a long pass from Roldan, 6-1.  Fred Mannix closed out the chukker with his first goal of the game with 38 seconds in the period.  Enigma left the field at the end of the chukker with a four goal, 6-2 advantage.

Hall thrilled the spectators by converting an extreme angle shot through the goalposts,7-2.Roldan tried to ignite an Audi rally with a pair of field goals, 7-4, but they were going to need more than that if they were going to shift the momentum and get back into the game.  Enigma held a comfortable three goal lead as the first half ended.

There was no letup from the Enigma attack as the fourth chukker opened.  Arellano added a goal from the field followed by a 40-yard penalty shot that extended the Enigma lead to five goals, 9-4.  Roldan cut into the lead by converting a 30-yard penalty shot for a goal, 9-5, and then dazzled the crowd with his incredible stick work by weaving through the Enigma defenders for another goal, 9-6. Arellano got the last word in by scoring on a 60-yard penalty shot for a goal that kept Enigma in front by four goals, 10-6.

In the opening seconds of the fifth chukker, Roldan snatched the all out of the air ,took control of it and raced over 140 yards down the field for a goal,  A second goal by Roldan came just a minute later, cutting the Enigma lead to a manageable two goals, 10-8.   MacDonough’s third goal of the match had Enigma back on top by three goals, 11-8, and Arellano followed up on a great individual effort from Hall who carried the ball nearly 200-yards down the field before leaving it in the goalmouth where Arellano tapped it through, 12-8.  MacDonough made it a five goal Enigma lead with his second goal of the chukker in the final seconds of the fifth, 13-8.

The two teams exchanged penalty conversions in the opening minutes of the sixth chukker.  Arellano opened the scoring with a 40-yard penalty conversion for Enigma, 14-8.Roldan responded with a 40-yard penalty goal of his own just two minutes later, 14-9.  Marc Ganzi scored his first goal of the day on a long pass by Roldan, 14-10., but time was running out on the Audi team.  Hall scored on a beautiful 10-yard run, 15-10 and Arellano took advantage of a pass from Jerome Wirth to close the door on Audi in the 16-10 victory.

Arellano led all scoring with eight goals (four on penalty shots).MacDonough and Hall added four goals each for the win.   Roldan’s seven goals (four on penalty conversions) were a team high for Audi. Mannix, Lalor and Ganzi added single goals in the 16-10 loss.
