Here in the center of polo right now Skeeter Johnston was injured in a practice game for the U.S. Open today. Skeeter was a hero on Sunday in an overtime win against Catamount. While practicing today it was said a horse fell and rolled over him creating a head injury. We are all praying and wishing him well. Skeeter is a very good man and part of the #1 Family of high-goal polo and Polo in general. His family supports all polo in the U.S.

In U.S. Open action today it was White Birch thrashing Bendabout without their patroness as Gillian Johnston was at the hospital with her brother. This was probably hard on the sister team knowing one of their leaders was in grave danger at the Hospital. It was White Birch’s first win in the Open so they move to 1 & 1 and Bendabout moves to 0 & 1.

In other action it was Millarville and his last minute team making the most of a new team about 10 days old. They were just short in OT as they fell to Lawerence Wallace in the unluckiest of times. They had two shots at goal in the over time. Its fun to see how proud and good the horses look here as the horses are some of the real soldiers of polo. Many horses here in FL are selling for above $100 thousand and they look like they could be if they had manes were walking in the ring in Keenland. Its amazing to see in this class of polo how the horses are treated so much better than cars, grooms and some cases spouses. I ts a real treat there are 2 horses at least in the open over 22 years old and oh yes they are carrying 9 goal players not bad for senior citizens and they do not even eat alfalfa .

see ya
