Sunday’s games had La Bamba de Areco (Alex Webb, Diego Cavanagh, Magoo Laprida and Rodrigo Rueda, Jr.) destroying Talandracas (Eduard Carmignac, Juan Cruz Merlos, Polito Pieres and Sapo Caset), 14-9 while Sifani (Hilali Noordeen, Juan Gris Zavaleta, J. The games finished the third round of play in the 2016 Cartier Queens Cup leaving only two teams with unblemished records.

Both defending champion King Power Foxes (Top Srivaddhanaprabha, Pepito Araya, Gonzalito Pieres and Facundo Peres) and last year’s finalist Dubai (Rashid Albwardy, Kian Hall, Adolfo Cambiaso and Juan Martin Nero) escaped with perfect 3-0 records and moved directly into quarterfinal berths.

La Indiana (Michael Bickford, Nic Roldan, Agustin Merlos and Julian de Lusarreta) and Zacara (Jack Hyde, Lyndon Lea, Lucas Monteverde and Pablo MacDonough) also made the cut with 2-1 records. La Indiana advanced on the strength of a second place finish in their bracket, behind King Power while Zacara needed to defeat Britannia El Remanso in a penalty shootout, 3-2, for the last quarterfinal assignment, avoiding the knockout stages of the tournament.

The knockout phase of the tournament will begin on Tuesday, May 31st with Britannia El Remanso (Charlie Hanbury, Ollie Cudmore, James Beim and James Harper) facing RH Polo (Ben Soleimani, Ali Patterson, Rodrigo Andrade and Nico Pieres) in a 3pm game.  Three games are scheduled to be played on Wednesday with HB Polo (Ludovic Pailloncy, Ignacio Toccalino, Pelon Stirling and Sebastien Pailloncy) battling Valiente at 11am.  La Bamba de Areco is scheduled to meet Talandracas in a 1pm encounter; with Apes Hill (George Hanbury/TBA, Mark Tomlinson, Eduardo Novillo Astrada and Alex White) taking on Sifani in a 3pm match.
