Equine Liquid Biocell teammates celebrate a 12-5 win over La Indiana in Iglehart Cup action Thursday afternoon at the International Polo Club.

With Duillio Diaz filling in for team captain Jim Zenni, Equine Liquid Biocell (Jim Zenni, Agustin Obregon, Hilario Ulloa and Jared Zenni) scored the first three goals of the game as they trampled a disjointed La Indiana (Michael Bickford, Ruki Baillieu, Jeff Hall and Mike Azzaro) lineup, 12-5, in 20-goal Iglehart Cup action at the International Polo Club Thursday afternoon.

Jared Zenni opened the scoring for Equine Liquid Biocell with a goal from the field followed by a 60-yard penalty conversion from Argentine 10-goaler Hilario Ulloa.  Agustin Obregon scored the final goal of the chukker with a solid defensive effort holding La Indiana scoreless, 3-0.

Equine Liquid Biocell continued to pummel the La Indiana defense in the second period.  Goals from Obregon and Duillio Diaz went unanswered as Equine Liquid Biocell stretched their led to five goals, 5-0.

Obregon’s third goal of the day had Equine Liquid Biocell on top of a 6-0 lead before the La Indiana attack made a successful appearance.  Former 10-goaler Mike Azzaro put his team on the scoreboard with a goal from the field, but it was Equine Liquid Biocell with the commanding 6-1 halftime advantage.

Obregon scored the first goal of the second half from the field with teammate Ulloa converting a penalty shot from 30-yards out to make it 8-1.  Azzaro scored the final goal of the chukker but it was Equine Liquid Biocell running away with an 8-2 lead.

The La Indiana offense made a brief appearance in the fifth chukker, as the two teams traded goals.  Azzaro’s third goal of the day was countered by a goal from Obregon, 9-3.  La Indiana team captain Michael Bickford added a second goal to the La Indiana total, but a final goal from Zenni saw Equine Liquid Biocell maintaining their six-goal lead, 10-4.

Jeff Hall’s single La Indiana goal in the final chukker didn’t spark a much-needed sixth chukker rally with Obregon and Ulloa adding single goals for the 12-5 victory.

Obregon led all scoring with six goals, all from the field.  Ulloa scored two of his three goals on penalty shots with Zenni adding two goals and Diaz scoring once for the win.  Azzaro’s three goals led an impotent La Indiana attack.  Bickford and Hall each scored once in the loss.  The win keeps Equine Liquid Biocell unbeaten in two game while La Indiana falls to 0-1.

Iglehart Cup action is slated to continue on Friday, March 3rd, with an 11am game between Tonkawa (Jeff Hildebrand, Costi Caset, Sapo Caset and Facundo Obregon) and Goose Creek (Maureen Brennan, Peke Gonzalez, Tomas Garcia del Rio and Mariano Gonzalez).
