DETROIT POLO CLUB and MEADOWVIEW FARM POLO will be staging a POLO BOOTH at the Michigan Horse Council’s (MHC) Annual Horse EXPO held at Michigan State University’s Livestock Pavilion in East Lansing, MI on Fri, Sat and Sun March 7,8 and 9. 2008. The show is attended by thousands of horse fans, owners and suppliers. Polo players from throughout the state will participate in manning the polo information booth. The Michigan State Polo Team will have a booth as well.
MERLE and VERA JENKINS are again hosting team members from the Michigan State Polo Team and the University of Michigan Polo Team at their lovely home on the polo fields in Wellington, FL. This annual sojourn is becoming a much anticipated tradition for the students and their convergence at the Jenkins’ home for BBQ, margaritas, stick and balling, swimming and Florida sunshine gets their youthful enthusiasm back to 110%! Go BLUE – Go GREEN !
The DETROIT POLO CLUB, in conjunction with, the UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN POLO TEAM and the UNITED STATES POLO ASSOCIATION’S PTF / PDI initiative, are conducting several LEARN TO PLAY POLO CLINICS. The program, called the DPC Polo Riding Academy, under the direction of long-time polo player and announcer, JERRY HUTCHESON of Birmingham, MI will begin the clinics with Saturday and Sunday March 15 and 16, 2008 sessions. The Adult sessions are 4 hours each day and with a junior session held on Saturday only. The clinic will be at Cedar Ridge Equestrian Center in Ann Arbor, MI. Polo players from all over MI are taking part in the clinic including the MEADOWVIEW FARM POLO from Grand Rapids, MI whose members LES JOHNSON, KATIE JOHNSON, PAUL KNAPP and SARAH KNAPP will conduct instruction at the clinics along with the DPC and UM teams.
