As we travel into the late months of Sept. we are looking for the Young Guns for the 2nd annual George Oliver Cup. Do we know about the young guns at your club?

The George Oliver Cup is a tournament for the best young guns in North America 25 and under. All players are invited. We will have brackets for the players. The best 8 will be in the featured match. Mrs. Mimi Gracida is the organizer of this tournament. The Tournament was successful last winter as some new faces appeared and there are many more we do not know about. The George Oliver Cup was won by the West Coast last winter. The West Coast team was Fred Mannix, Jr., Shane Rice, Joe Stuart and Jason Crowder rolled over the East Coast group in a surprise showing.

All of these players from both teams are still eligible except the “Big Bird” aka Kris Kampsen who passed the Quarter century recently. There are many young and upcoming players we do not know about, so let us know email scrowder@poloconnect.com or call 805-896-4406.

Here is a list of the players we know who qualify with an age of 25 and under and who are Americans. We are trying to improve the knowledge that we do have players made in North America as we really do. Mimi is the daughter of George Oliver who was an American 9-goaler for 20 years. She is also the Mother of young gun Julio Gracida.
