This information is shared from the Facebook Page and GoFundMe pages set-up in Memory of Will Tankard.

The polo community and Team USPA mourns the loss of Will Tankard, 31, of Aiken, South Carolina. Will died tragically along with his loyal companion Chewy and three of his horses in a traffic accident Thursday in Ohio.

He was a true horseman and gentleman who set a wonderful example to our youth and was an inspiration to adults as well. Will was a founding member of Team USPA, 2002 & 2003 National Interscholastic Champion, and 2006 National Intercollegiate Champion. Will was a genuine, passionate and caring human being who found his way into the heart of our polo family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends, fellow Team USPA members and his family especially his mom, Cissie Snow, his dad, Bill Tankard, his brother, Jason Melson, and his beloved partner, Samira Waernlund.

The surviving seven horses are in need of urgent care.  All proceeds will go directly to the care of Will’s horses. A Facebook page has been set up to help raise funds for the horses.  They also provide photos and updates on how the 7 surviving horses are doing.  Use the link below to visit the Remember Will Facebook page.
