It is the 100th birthday of the Spreckels Cup. It all starts Saturday the 15th day of September. It is a true fall classic and it is where the Surf meets the Turf at San Diego Polo Club, so get ready to rumble for the next 3 weeks. There are 14 teams who will fight, scramble and run to be there on that final day of the Tournament which is scheduled for Oct.1, 2006. They all want to be the Champions of a 100 years of players like Memo and Carlos Gracida, Julio Zavaleta, Brian Murphy, Joe Henderson, and Jim Williams. All of these names are on this big and beautiful Cup with many more. They are coming to get in the mix from afar. Ed Pope is here from Milwaukee, Fernando Pilego is from Mexico City. Other players are from locations such as Argentina, England and Canada. Some Big Boys hit town yesterday in the form of Sean Keys from Portland and Wild Bill Freeman who just flew in from France. ,The Easy Rider (Chris Maloney) and Lady Lisa Bosstick are part of the mix and they are all here all for a piece of the big pie. Its time to party as there is one ever Friday and Sunday night with a few in between. The rumor is the Governor of the Pac.
