Cameron Highlands were revelations on the first day as they cruised past Thailand Polo. Brazilian FIP World Cup winner Ubarjarra Alves de Andrade Jr, was outstanding. Team captain Brian Miller scored an outstanding goal in the 3rd chukka, while co-captain Hiroshe Kume was man-marking as hard as ever. They ran out easy 6-2 winners

In the first match of the day Royal Pahang and Ranhill played some excellent polo. They set the standard for the tournament with some very fast play. Royal Pahang eventually prevailed by 7 goals to 5.
