Calgary, Alberta (July 12, 2007) – With his second ten goal game in as many outings, Fred H. Mannix led Millarville past Tusk Energy by a score of 12 – 7 on Thursday evening  to capture the J Vair Anderson Cup and along with it, the valued Tissot watches.

As well as going into double figures for the second consecutive game, Mannix again scored two goals in less than 95 seconds at the outset.  Of the ten, two of his  goals were penalty conversions. Daniel Roenisch, said by many to be playing as well as ever, contributed two.  The scoring for the winners was even throughout with two in each period with the exception of the second (3) and the sixth (1).

Millarville not only presented a huge offense (controlling the throw-ins),  but played a large defensive game as well and made things very difficult for John Rooney and his Oilers. Rooney was able to get away on occasions and  scored four goals (two fouls), while Todd Matineau had a pair (one foul) and one was obtained by handicap. Both of Rooney’s goals from the field were long runs and well earned.

12 Goal tournament play resumes next week.

Millarville (12) – Fred H. Mannix 7, Julian Mannix, Daniel Roenisch 5, Julie Roenisch.

Tusk Enerdy (11) – John Rooney 1, Joe Henderson 4, Todd Martineau 3, Matt Sekara 3.
