So we’ve fertilized the fields…then we received some light rain yesterday(we missed the heavy storms) and another short shower today. The sun is breaking through the clouds as I type. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny all day setting us up for perfect field conditions to kick off the 2006 Eddie Moore. We have eight awesome teams ready to battle this year. The first game tomorrow has John Klopp’s Smithfield Farm, featuring Francisco Bilbao, six goaler, up against Javier Guerra’s Bulltick, featuring Hernan Tasso, also at six goals. Then Game two has Burnt Mills’ Billy Patterniti galloping into town with his New Jersey foursome to take on Kim Folley’s combo of Guilli Aguero and the Faircloughs. Guilli brings both a seven goal handicap and a lot of history to the tournament. Guill’s father, Negro, actually worked for the late, great Eddie Moore and then went on to work for 16 years for our own Michael Levin. Michael Levin got his start in polo from Eddie Moore and then went on to establish this tournament in honor of the man this tournament is named for. The final competition has another seven goaler by the name of Michel Dorignac leading the team belonging to both Matias Bullrich and Bruce Colley. They face Duke Buchan’s Longfield squad which is showcasing the Zavaleta brothers. Longfield are the defending Champions. Last year’s powerhouse, Omar Sosa has been replaced with the magic mallet of Augustine Zavaleta. Can Longfield repeat? There’s seven other teams here that are anxious to knock them off the top of last year’s heap.

We have two, four team brackets…and the best record in each of the brackets will receive the honor to play in the championship finals for this year’s Rich Roenisch Bronzes !!! This is the time of year, when Mashomack Polo goes Extreme. We look forward to having you join us and we wish all of the teams the best of luck!! It is almost time for the first throw-in to kick this thing into gear.
