Lazy P snuck past Goose Creek by the narrow margin of 8-7½ to capture the 2012 International Polo Club qualifier for the USPA 8-goal President’s Cup.

A realigned Goose Creek team received one half goal by handicap and quickly ran off with a 2½ -1 lead.  Wesley Finlayson scored the sole Lazy P goal in the opening chukker.

Two more Goose Creek goals were countered by a single goal from Gringo Colombres as Goose Creek extended its lead to 4½ -2.

The two teams exchanged penalty goals in the third as Colombres converted a shot from 60-yardsBrandon Phillips scored on a penalty shot for Goose Creek for a 5½-3 halftime edge.

Two more second half goals from Lazy P in the fourth were answered by a pair of goals from Phillips.  Lazy P continued to trail, 7½ -5.

Lazy P got back into the game in the fifth.  Finlayson and Colombres scored single goals.  Phillips scored twice for Goose Creek, but Lazy P had cut the lead to one-half goal, 7½ -7.

Santiago Galland scored the only goal of the sixth chukker, giving the game to Lazy P, 8-7½.
