Do you know where you were at at the time you heard the news ? If you do not I am not sure I would believe you are an American. Why do I say this because if you were not fired up you could not be a real Yank as they say you were and probably are just a person good or bad living the American way. I think it was this day then that many of us understood our loyalty was just one of many . The attack of 911 was one of the first real efforts to kill Americans by numbers in over a 100 years on our land . I remember exactly where I was we were preparing to leave Carpinteria , for Houston Texas with Windsor Capital when Lisa B called and asked if I had seen the news I turned on the tv just as second tower was hit by plane . Totally lost as what was happening she told me and it was a bit nerve racking knowing we had to drive thru LA on a day like this . As we traveled to Texas despite the problems by truck and car in many places we felt little concern but when we enterd the first stop in New Mexico it was another world they wanted to know what the heck we were doing with 40 horses headed east we told them playing polo and they just thought we were what we thought before nobody cares and we felt like s- – t
Well when we got to Texas you better look like a Yank or else but the main thing was and is people cared for the cause and the people killed in this horrible thing, until then it seemed concern but not rallying the troops here there was no doubt who cared they did and that was what America was built on helping everyone and you seen then its changed from Polo to Hi Tech its not about Country or beliefs its about me and only me and my friends. I understand how some countries seem retarded in there problems with politics and Religion I do not think its right but somewhere there has to be loyalty to people in our lives and do we have IT? You tell me I am sure you will not tell your name as thats the way it is today nobody wants to be marked, Everyone should live there lives but if your here why are you here because you want to be, so be it or hit the road its that simple. If you had no feeling about today then think. Why?
The rest of the story is we went on to Texas where I have never seen so many American Flags and I thought about those times no Airplanes anywhere in the US are boss Pat N was on his way from England and sent back Tom B was part way to Ca. and grounded drove a rental car home . Nick Stonnington was probably the luckiest person I knew he had been there and went to the airport he did not get home by air but he was not at the Trade Center an hour later or he might still be there. Windsor Capital swept the Texas tournaments but what I really remember was the way those people thought. We are Red White and Blue and it will not be a suprise for long as we will be in your backdoor by noon because we are bonafide Yanks and we are Proud to be Americans.
