How much? Well if He or She can jump fast and high it might be a big piece of a million bucks right here in Thermal. HITS, the horse show, is putting on a million dollar jump off this week. I’m not sure if final is this weekend or next, but you can find out on www.hitsshow.com.
Polo is not paying that well, but when do you make money from Polo? Here is your chance … the money tournaments are all part of March Madness and they start soon. Empire Polo’s 8-Goal Champion’s Cup is worth 80 Grand if we fill it up. The purse will buy a Team dinner for sure.
There is a lot of action in the Valley called COACHELLA. There is the HITS Horse Show Million, the Champions at EMPIRE Polo Club with 2 including the 8-Goal Champion’s Cup and 4- Goal Lion’s Cup and of course the Skins money game at Eldorado and the Governor’s Cup. The Weather is picture perfect and the Face of POLO is on his way to Empire. When Nacho gets here look for the traffic to increase 3 fold.
The Lady Face of Polo, Sunny Hale, left and in comes the King. There are a lot of big names around. The Cougars will soon be back in action and the NW Cougar Suzi is really fired-up now her Zags are # 1 for the moment and a NW Local Rusty Stewart is leading the Million Dollar race down the street. The Cobb Cougars are firing up for Governor’s Cup and Money tournaments, so Hershel is very busy.
DID you know they are putting in a 100 million dollar car race track out close to HITS called the Thermal Club? It is just past Jasper Petersons old place on 62nd. It is amazing and it’s huge. The story is that it will be a test track for Indy and NASCAR. Drive by … you can see the sides of the bank on the track. It just goes to show you something I read one time is true. Whether it be polo or life, THERE IS NO SECURITY ON THIS EARTH ONLY OPPORTUNITY. That’s just the way it is. You just do not know when, where or how, but it may be there because it is.
Down South they are not playing for big money, they are spending big money for the best polo in the USA. They have a new team with all kinds of Desert Rats. It is captained by Canadian dynamo Fred Mannix 2 and he brings the desert with him on this team. He calls it The Zorzal Team and they will challenge Little Bro who is playing with some old-time desert favorites. Mariano Gonzalez will be big stick of Duende and Windsor Capital History here in the Desert. The other two played Pee Wee Polo with Fred, Maranito Obergon and Jason “The Palomino” Crowder. It should be fun to see them 18 years later take to the big one. There will be some speed on this team similar to Julian Mannix’s, Alegria, who won the first Cup of the Triple Crown.
