La Dofina defeated La Aguada 10-9 to win the finals of the 113th Hurlingham Open.

Like in 2000, 2001 and 2002, La Dolfina is the Hurlingham Open Champion. In the tournament final, beat La Aguada. The match score was 10 – 9 and Adolfo Cambiaso, the number 1 of La Dolfina scored the last goal by a penalty.

The match began better for La Dolfina, but in the middle of the fifth period La Aguada domínate the scorer and goes to rest winning the match by 8 – 6.

But near the end, Cambiaso and his magic reversed the score and finally La Dolfina became Champion in the oldest Polo tournament in the World.

The high-scorers of the match were Adolfo Cambiaso and Lucas Monteverde, both players of La Dolfina, with 5 goals each.

113th Hurlingham Open Final will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11th 2006 at 4 PM and La Aguada will play La Dolfina .

The Novillo Astrada’s Team arrives to the final winning all the tournament matches in the Zone A against Coronel Suarez, El Paraiso and Ellerstina.

La Dolfina to win their place in the Open final won all the matches of the Zone B against Hurlingham, Chapa I and Indios Chapaleufú II.

Both teams will play to win the 113th Hurlingham Open and the Ayshire Cup, the same trophy that has been part of this tournament since April of 1893 when the History of Argentine Polo began.

Nov. 5th, ’06:,/b> Today, under the rain, Chapa I won the match against Coronel Suarez by 15 – 7. This was the last match of both teams in the 113º Hurlingham Open.

The number one player of Chapa I, Bautista Heguy, was the high scorer of the match with 8 goals. Heguy´s team dominated the ball in all chukkers and used this match to prove horses and strategy for in the Argentine Open, the next important tournament of the Argentinian Season.

So, next Tuesday at 16.30, Indios Chapaleufú II and La Dolfina will play the semifinal match of the 113º Hurlingham Open.

Nov. 4th, 06: Last Saturday, La Aguada won the Semifinal match versus Ellerstina and get the pass to the 113º Hurlingham Open Final.

The match was very even, but near of the end of the eighth chukker, Javier Novillo Astada scored and put La Aguada 11 – 10. When the bell rang, Matias Mac Donough scored for Ellerstina and tied the match 11 – 11. In the overtime chukker, Miguel Novillo Astrada recovered the ball from a throw in and made the deciding goal.

La Aguada defeated Ellerstina 12 – 11. La Aguada is going to the finals.

Nov. 3rd, 06: This Saturday, Nov. 4th, will continue the Zone A of the 113th Hurlingham Open. Coronel Suárez and El Paraiso will play the first match of the day in the field 2 of the Hurlingham Club. The match will begin at 14.

Both teams don’t have chance to be in the Open Final, because they have lost two games.

Then, at 4:30, Ellerstina and La Aguada will play to have a place in the tournament final and the winner of tomorrow will win the Mercedes Benz Semifinals Cup.

Ellerstina and La Aguada won the first two matches of the tournament versus El Paraiso and Coronel Suarez.

Next Sunday, Nov. 5th from 4:30 PM we will know the second tournament finalist when Indios Chapaleufú and La Dolfina play the second semifinal.

Before this match, at 14, Hurlingham and Chapa I will play the first match of the day to finalizate their performances in this tournament.

After a week of delays due to heavy rains, the Hurlingham open continued play today with the fourth day of tournament games.

Indios Chapaleufú II demonstrated their skills against Hurlingham and won 20-13. Eduardo Heguy scored 9 goals, 6 were converted from penalties.

In the second match of the day, Chapa I was in control of the first half of the game, leading with a score of 9-7 at the end of the fourth chukker. In the last three chukkers, Adolfo Cambiaso scored 10 goals to take control of the game and La Dolfina defeated Chapa I 16 – 13.

The tournament will continue next weekend with the last games for each zone.
