This agreement will contribute to the growth of the sport in the country and the international community.

Polo Challenge Dominican Republic and Santa María Polo Club signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of improving the development and marketing of their respective events, thus ensuring mutual support within the international polo community.

With this union they commit to share experiences and information that can benefit both clubs, looking to consolidate their events within the world polo calendar and thus position themselves as the best clubs in the world.

Rafael Torres, President of Casa de Campo Resort: “This agreement follows the idea of Polo Challenge RD Trust of positioning the Dominican Republic as a leader in world polo, which favours projects we are designing make the country as the ideal sporting vacation spot in the Caribbean, and the world.” The areas which are being supported by the agreement, which will be valid for a year, are: hospitality, marketing and transmission, coverage and reach.

Both parties guarantee a series of steps which will grant diverse benefits for their partners, but will also support the development of their planned activities. The union between both events will be noted on a sporting level, but also through international marketing and use of hospitality areas and VIP attention. “For Santa María Polo Club, this agreement is a wonderful opportunity to promote the highest level of polo under the union of two leading international events, this union is the result of a common goal: the maximum development of the sport and a level of excellence in the tournaments.” says Luis Estrada, CEO of Santa María Polo Club.

The agreement states that Polo Challenge RD will host a tournament in August 2017 under the International INDI Polo Tournament of Santa María Polo Club, with all international teams and players present. “With Polo Challenge in the Dominican Republic we will definitely help the sport reach new heights, positioning the Dominican firmly on the polo world map,” says Alfredo Vargas, of Lechuza Caracas RD Polo Club and Director of Polo Challenge RD.

Both the International INDI Polo Tournament, hosted by Santa María Polo Club in August, and the Polo Challenge RD played in the Dominican Republic from January through March, are 22-goal tournaments and are ranked in the World Polo Tour (WPT).
