Polo Tournament Raising Funds and Awareness for
Nalley Automotive Group’s
“Driven for a Cause” Program

Atlanta Regional Polo Center is mounting up for a special tournament to benefit Nalley Automotive Group’s “Driven for a Cause” program dedicated to helping local charities. Four talented teams will begin competition in the 4-goal handicap tournament on Thursday, October 25, with matches at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. ET. The main event will begin on Saturday, October 27, and will feature a consolation match at 12:30 p.m., followed by the tournament final at 2 p.m. ET. There will be a “meet the polo ponies” session at halftime of the 2 p.m. match and fans will be able to sit on a wooden practice horse to get a feel for how to swing a polo mallet and hit a ball.

Attendance to the event is free and open to the public. Donations will be graciously accepted to support Nalley’s “Driven for a Cause,” the charitable giving program established by Nalley Automotive Group stores in the Atlanta area to provide a lending hand in the local community. Since its formation at the end of last year, the program has made special contributions that range from a new vehicle to cash donations. The Harbor House, a child advocacy center for abused children, along with animal charities, including Georgia English Bulldog Rescue and Furkids, are past beneficiaries. Another deserving charity will be selected at the end of the month and fans are encouraged to vote for the local charity finalist they feel is most driven by a cause. Voting takes place on the Nalley Automotive Group “Driven for a Cause” Facebook page and runs through October 31, so there is still plenty of time for fans to participate. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000.

“It feels great to team up with local organizations, like the Atlanta Regional Polo Center, that share our passion to support local charitable organizations and what better way to do so than some exciting polo action,” said Nalley Acura General Manager Randy Pullen. “It will be a very special event featuring competitive games and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.”

In addition to its “Driven for a Cause” program, Nalley Automotive Group has supported many other charitable organizations during its 92-year history in Atlanta, including Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Habitat for Humanity. Nalley Lexus, in Roswell and Smyrna, GA, also opened “Café Blends: Blending Autism Into the Workplace” this year as a unique onsite café providing employment opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum.

“We’re looking forward to hosting this charitable event as a way to demonstrate our continued support for Nalley’s ‘Driven for a Cause’ program. We are honored to be involved with an organization that is making such a positive difference for charities in the area,” said Jolie Liston, Atlanta Regional Polo Center owner and head instructor. “In addition to raising awareness and money for an important cause, this will be a fun event that allows fans to get an up-close and personal look at an exciting sport with strong local ties.”

Atlanta Regional Polo Center has hosted a number of events for local causes, including a special tournament this past June to support wounded warriors from the Army’s Ft. Benning Warrior Transition Battalion. The club is one of four Regional Polo Centers (RPCs) in the nation accredited by the U.S. Polo Association (USPA), polo’s national governing body. The center is committed to the advancement of polo with quality training through clinics, events and organized play. The USPA established the RPC program as a network of the most prominent polo centers around the country that train polo players, umpires, managers and others. They also support nearby clubs and provide resources in an effort to enhance USPA membership.
