San Diego Polo Club resumes summer competition with (0 – 4) and (8-10) goal tournaments, and Sunday Polo from August 16th to October 4th.  It’s home to America’s second oldest sporting cup, the USPA Spreckels Cup, founded by John D Spreckels in 1909, and the USPA Rossmore Cup.  “Our tournament teams are growing by the week and we look forward to exciting competition in the 103rd anniversary of the Spreckels Cup in September,” said Polo Manager Graham Bray.  Coaching chukkers, pro-pool, Women’s Tournament, and Fall Polo are on the calendar through the first of November.  Known for it’s fun party scene, social membership and member’s only parties highlight the season:

Sunday Polo game times are 1:30 and 3 pm with reserved seating in the Members Club tent, open seating in the Player’s Club, and tailgates field side where you can BYO picnic [sorry, no barbeques or flame].  It’s exciting polo, an elegant ambiance, and perfect venue for family fun.  Children under 12 are admitted FREE with paid adult, and the children’s area has a bounce house too.

Everyone can learn to play at San Diego Polo Club’s Arena School. Your first lesson is FREE.  Beginner, intermediate, and advanced lessons are played in a regulation indoor polo arena.  Holiday Arena tournaments hosted by San Diego Polo Club offer three levels of play: student level, (-2 to 0), and (0 to 2) goal.  The Labor Day Tournament is Monday, September 7th, and entries close Wednesday, September 2nd, call 619-247-4448.
