Well what’s left of a weak season is almost over and it will be a good polo game no matter what! There also will be a double winner of the season as both teams have one Silver Cup thus far from this ‘09 season and it will be the Cowboys of Piocho Ranch with the Lawman on their side (Matt Ladin) riding with boss man TJ.  On the team they have a guy who is little old, but still shakes and sometime bakes in the form of Joel Baker.  Filling out the squad will be Justin Klentner, who is always ready to rock and roll. They will have to roll as they have beat La Kirina  but also been in over their heads a couple of times, so it will be sweet to watch.

Brian Boyd was a savior for Santa Barbara Polo by bringing a team all the way from Santa Fe, NM to participate.  I hope he has had a good time here. He has one silver mug to prove he played and won in Santa Barbara.  Brian has some efficient help as Santi Wulf has played very well and Fernando has been a driving force throughout it all. The big surprise has been Page Beard who was sometimes a bit wimpy, but not on the polo field. She has taken on many occasions the man out. Just ask Justin Klenter or Pat Nesbitt they have felt her at work. She just stops them from making a shot or gets just enough of them to mess it up and that has been her job.

Today it was a rubber match as the same two teams played and it was pretty likely that Sunday would be the same as Windsor and Long Beach were at a good distance behind. Polo is always a weird game, but here is a weird part. Piocho usually kills La Kirina and LaKirina usually kills Windsor and Windsor beats Piocho, which is usually easy. Long Beach always takes La Kirina to the wire.  It has to be the mix and it has been a fun season even though its sort of lonely.

Down South in San Diego they are in their third week and rockin’ team counts are also down, but crowds are smoking’ as they are usually a party place.  Its the same just lots of fans and fun every Sunday. Silent Chris Maloney and CC were the big dudes on campus first tournament. As Chris Collins and Chris Maloney teamed up to destroy visiting friends, but brought them to dinner and took them to the party, so that made it ok! They have a big one this Sunday, so if you are near the Surf there is a party.   BE THERE its fun in the sun and party time.

Its been a sad week for high profile people as Norm Brinker, a genius in the polo world as well as the Restaurant world passed away.  Then Farrah Faucett left us then the King of show time, Michael Jackson left us just before his final tour. Lve your life as tomorrow never comes so be HAPPY and HAVE a GOOD TIME.

see ya @ Polo.
