A season-high six teams will be competing in the 2016 High Alpine Cup at the Aspen Valley Polo Club with action getting started on Friday morning at the Sopris Mountain Ranch polo field. An 11am round-robin will feature Flexjet (Riley Ganzi/Ace Boyd, Melissa Ganzi, Tomas Pieres and Juan Bollini), Los Amigos (Paul Foster, Gabriel Gracida, Nic Roldan and Stewart Armstrong) and Casablanca (Alejandra Foster, Grant Ganzi, Tincho Merlos and Juancito Bollini).

At 3pm a second round-robin match is scheduled to be played at Jeff Hildebrand’s High Mesa Ranch Field with Tonkawa (Jeff Hildebrand, Carlitos Gracida, Lucas Lalor and Jimmy Seward), Travieso (Teo Calle, Tony Calle, Julio Novillo Astrada and Alex Gooding) and Intercontinental Hotel/La Karina (Ale Poma, Brian Boyd, Sebastian Merlos and Marc Ganzi) participating.

Juan Bollini, Sr. and Tomas Pieres will be making their first appearances of the season in the six-team field. Both will be appearing on the Flexjet roster.

The High Alpine Cup is the seventh in an expanded ten tournament Aspen Valley Polo Club season with the final and subsidiary finals scheduled to be played on Sunday, with matches slated to be played at 10am (High Mesa Ranch), 11am and 1pm (Aspen Valley Polo Club).

The Aspen Valley Polo Club is located at 3275 County Road 100, Carbondale, CO.  The public is welcome to watch polo in a relaxed atmosphere.  Admission and parking are free.  The club’s Polo Hotline is 970-710-1663.
