Polo games open to the public every Saturday at 6PM. Gates open at 5PM.  (June 11th-Sept. 3rd). Please check our website for any schedule changes.

June 11-The Salem Cup
Pastor Debbie Earthrowl of Salem to host the ceremonial “blessing of the horses” followed by a charity fundraiser towards rebuilding the Bedlams Corner Store of Salem, NY.

June 18-The Green Mountain Cup
Surya vs. Quechee Polo. Visiting team from Quechee, VT to play against Surya.

June 25- Battle of the Sexes.
Watch the men and women’s teams compete against each other for bragging rights. Charity fundraiser for SquirrelWood Equine Rescue and Sanctuary- a not for profit horse rescue in Montgomery, NY.

July 9- The Green Mountain Cup Revenge
Away game at Quechee Polo Club (Note: team will be travelling so no local game)

July 16- Washington County Tourism Cup
Tournament to benefit Washington County economic and tourism development.
Half time Bollywood and folk dance performance by Hubbard Hall program director Gina Diebel’s dance troop.
Senator Betty Little to preside as guest of honor.

July 23-  The Surya Cup- International Tournament

August 13- Women’s Challenge
Women’s tournament to benefit Washington County Grasslands IBA, Raptorfest. Come meet birds of prey and learn more about preservation of bird habitat.

August 27- The Ron and Carlene Buia tournament
A big thanks to Ron and Carlene Buia, polo playing couple and owners of Husaria farms in Argyle, NY. Ron and Carlene’s support and guidance have been invaluable to our club.

September 3- Celebrate “Work to Ride” program Cup
Learn more about Lezlie Hiner’s non-profit community-based prevention program that aids disadvantaged urban youth through constructive activities centered on horsemanship, equine sports and education.

May 15, 2011 Kareem Rosser joins Surya Polo Club

I am pleased to welcome Kareem Rosser, winner of the 2011 USPA Interscholastic Championship to Surya Polo Club. Kareem will be working closely with club manager Richard Prather. Kareem is from Philadelphia where he began riding at the age of 9 at Chamoinix Equestrian Center, home of the Work To Ride Program (WTR) where he had the opportunity to join the only all African American polo team in the country. Kareem has travelled throughout the U.S and around the world to compete in numerous tournaments. Kareem’s recent and notable win is the United States Polo Association National Interscholastic Championship, while also being the first all African American team to win a major USPA title in the history of the US . Kareem has been featured on the CBS news with Katie Couric, Sports Illustrated, CNN, Jet Magazine, Ralph Lauren magazine and other publications as well.
