There are a lot of athletes in every sport in life. We have Superstars in every sport and Adolfo Cambiaso is one if these Super Stars. He follows Gonzalo Pieres in the World of polo as the current outstanding top performer in polo, maybe even better or maybe not. There are always arguments either way, but both of them are always named when people talk of the best in our sport. Their styles are different, but the results are the same. Gonzalo looked like he was out for a Sunday ride and never was seen whipping and spurring. He did not use them anyway, but seldom did anyone run by him and few ever caught him. For me he was the ultimate in polo players and a horseman unknown as he never seemed to spend the time on horses. He just did it. Those horses they flew for him and he never hurt a horse. Why? I have no idea, but he did not ever when he played for Oxley as I was witness to that. Gonzalo played 6 horses and lost 1 of 35 games and that one he could have lost by 30 goals because he was in the finals anyway.

Cambiaso is also is a magician in a polo game. He is not ever going to play 6 horses, maybe in 1 chukker, but he is unbelievable in his ability to make everyone look lost when he has the ball. A goal is 80 % possible no matter where he is. Cambiaso will go through another team, he will go solo in the air or backwards maybe , but there is a good chance it will be a goal when he has the ball. Cambiaso is again the Champion of the Argentine Open this year with his team La Dolfina. He led his team to the top again and it was his running mate Lolo who scored the golden goal. The sad part is Adolfo Cambiaso lost a real part of his game as a very famous partner of his was fatally injured in this match in the overtime chukker. We will have some news on this as soon as we have more details.

I would like to congratulate the 2006 Argentine Open Champs . . .my favorite LOLO (Bartolomé Castagnola 10) not Loco who was the hero and Adolfo Cambiaso is always a hero no matter what. See ya. – Steve Crowder.
