The Polo Report, by Steve Crowder – The Turtle Open in Costa Careyes Mexico Comes To An End. It was the end and the beginning of a ladies tournament that will go on in history as the place to go for anyone who is looking for an extraordinary polo experience that is unforgettable. I would bet there will be more Women than they can mount next time after they all hear about the place called Costa Careyes and see the trophies made by Super Silversmith Roberto Romo who does have a line of products at Neiman Marcus. It was a hard-fought game by a field of mostly rookies. It was Team Lunas leading throughout the game, but it was never over until the final bell. Easily the best player on the field the from Columbia Queen Ms. Susana Mantilla. She kept the direction of her hard-riding rookies from Monterey Sandra Guzman and a sweet little devil named Sofia Landa working the front line. They did their job well and loved the game. It was Team Estrellas fighting back with a super 4th chukker as a team of rookies led by England’s Francine Howard and powered by Carolina Roma. Carolina may not know the rules, but she rides, hits and does it with nothing but power, no fear and no doubt. She will be the best player soon. They had a lot of help from Ana Lira and Whitney Crowder, but too little too late and it was the pink team in the winners circle.

The end of an awesome start at an awesome place led by “Mr. Organization” the detail man Gigorio Brignone. If you never go there and you never meet him its your loss the way I see it. It took me 15 years to return and that was a mistake.
