The Ladys took front row today in San Diego and it was a dandy. They started on time at 11 am with a Northeast Fall day feeling. There was a cool light breeze. It was Gladiators 2 getting off to a strong start as they out dueled the San Diego girls in round 1. Rhoda and Sara set up Yvonne for an early lead and hung on to stop Katie and Mrs. Cooley. Sophia headed to goal with flag waving on her mind. They finish this one in the AM. In the B flight it was Liquid Ice freezing Ranch Amistad and going on to win it as Barbie left the back door open early, but shut them down late, but not soon enough. Kimberly, Jenn and Savanna kept hitting to Susan.

Next it was time for the speed demons to hit the pitch and it was 20 to 60 real quick as the A flight hit the field with Patroness Tracee Mulvaney and her hard-hitting Gladiators. A team jumped on P/A/O as the school teacher started class with a goal followed up by Jessica and then it was Tracee getting her first as she wanted it. They jumped out to a 4 goal lead, but Abi Abel got Colleen Wilson and Kelly Maloney along with Alisha Wray fired up and they shut the Glads out in the 3rd. In the 4th it was Tracee getting #2 and holding on as a midchukkar crash sent captain Abi to the EMG for some x’s with the ER. So the Gladiator A’s head to the finals and P/A/O go for 3rd in the final of the day. It was a midsize war as OC POLO defending champs looked tough on paper and were with Therese Volmer coming in from Arizona, but the Madison/Monteverde were powered by a Kat named Kate Weber. They were all tied up at 1/2 with a huge goal by pretty Lady Lisa Bosstick snacthing the first one. Kim G. nailed one favor returned by Heather and Therese. In the 3rd it got quick and Madison pulled ahead. A missed #2 was taken down and stuffed in the opposite post and Shelley could never get it back in form and has to look for 3rd on Sunday. MS. Ellie (Ellen Greenhill) and Lady Lisa Bosstick will head to the finals vs. the Gladiators and it will be at 2 p.m.

Today was the first time I have seen a paint and a palomino on the field at once running sorta of side by side. Now you know why Polo players play T-Birds. There was a great BBQ sort of extra plush food from Scalinis. No tri tip or ribs, but so good. Thanks Tracee and Ara. RUMOR HAS IT THE WINNING WOMENS TEAM WILL GO TO COSTA CAREYES TO PLAY FOR THE NORTH AMERICAN TITLE!!!

Sunday after the 2nd game all are invited to watch the Triple Crown of Polo on TV at the clubhouse and have some grub and head to the finals with some champagne. It will be a very big day so be there.

Up north in the final 8-goal in Santa Barbara it was Piocho Ranch stopping Gehache and the Western Badge. Uranga beat up Chadmar. Back East it was Silver Cup action. Skeeterville stopped Bendabout and the semifinalist of Dahlwood being beat but still in the 1st spot I hear.

See you at the San Diego Polo Club Party.
