After finishing strong in our first tournament, we turned out the made horses to give them a week-long break. For this week we have been able to work more on the young horses with our new found time. Monday and Tuesday we rode in the morning and practiced in the afternoons at Gaston’s. No rest for the weary. Wednesday and Thursday we again rode in the morning but took some of the ones that were further along to play at the club. Pancho Bensadon played with us both days as well as his very young son who is zero goals (going on five). With those two along with Gaston we had a pretty fast and productive practice both days. Friday we were back on the greener ones, morning and night. Saturday and Sunday we were back at the club for a mixed practice with the Heguys. They’re all extremely helpful but are quick to let us know when we do something wrong or right.

Each of us is responsible for a string of 4 or 5 green horses that we consistently ride. We have been learning a lot playing a role in the growth of these young horses. Each day we ride them twice and by constantly being on them, they have improved exponentially in a short amount of time. We have also been fortunate enough to play some horses from a string that was sent from Pepe Heguy, these horses are still young but a little further along in their playing careers.
