Santa Barbara Polo Club is pleased to announce that the Henri Du Toit from the USPA Polo Development team will be conducting a clinic at the SBPRC grass fields on Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1!

Henri began his polo career 1990 in Ficksburg, South Africa, then moving to the states in 1992. In 1993 he started working for Buzz Welker, a polo instructor and polo club manager, where he spent seven years teaching alongside him. From 1998-2002 Henri started his own polo school at Mashomack Polo Club in NY. Henri has also spent time working with the renowned Rege Ludwig, training green horses and assisting in his polo clinics and also assisted with coaching his interscholastic team. In 2007 Rege asked Henri to move to California and take over is polo school when he relocated to Thailand. Aside from his vast experience as a polo instructor Henri spent years as a pro- playing in New York,Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, California, Georgia,Vermont,Wyoming and Oregon and reached three-goals. One of Henri’s career highlights was playing in the Monty Waterbury 16-goal twice- winning the first year, then playing in the finals

The clinic will be the perfect opportunity for arena players or beginner players to work on their skills and get helpful tips while experiencing the velvety smooth grass fields of Santa Barbara Polo Club. It will be a great opportunity for more experienced players who have been “turned out” with their horses to dust off the winter cobwebs on their polo skills and get a tune up from a wonderful clinician.

Since there is not tournament polo on the weekend of the clinic, clinic participants will be able to fully utilize the amazing SBPRC fields for the clinic.

SBPRC will also be conducting afternoon Early Bird chukkers both days, so players who want to maximize their weekend polo can participate in the morning session of the clinic and then play in the afternoon. The schedule also allows families to tailor their schedules, for example kids can do the clinic in the morning and parents play in the afternoon.

There will be a barbecue on Saturday night after the day’s activities are done.
