Indulge me for a moment – or two.

The USPA Interscholastic Tournament is coming to the Empire Polo Club, Indio, CA  in a couple of days and I’ve neither read nor heard of it anywhere. Oh sure, there’s some (hard to find) information on the USPA website but very little, and nothing (hard to believe) under ‘Upcoming Events’ on that same website. Yes there is stuff on Facebook (that the people I’ve spoken with obviously don’t read) but why nothing in places that are read by polo people? I’ve asked countless people as to where the tournament is being held and 99% have absolutely no idea.

Is the USPA trying to keep this tournament a secret? If so, it appears that they’re doing a great job. This is not a regional deal – this is the National Championship and very little is being done re ‘getting the word out’. Gotta ask – who’s responsible?

I’m sure the logistics of putting on a deal such as this are beyond big – large as I like to say. But why so very little (bordering on nothing) information about what is probably pretty good polo and a National Championship as well?

Again – who’s responsible for putting information ‘out there’? On the surface, it appears that this is an area that is currently being handled extremely poorly.
