Yellow Cab scored a 9-8.5 win over Jan Pamela Sunday afternoon in the 2012 Sawgrass Challenge 12-Goal PRO-AM at the International Polo Club in Wellington.

Yellow Cab lurched out to an early 2-.5 lead (Jan Pamela received a .5 goal handicap from the 12-goal yellow Cab team) on goals from Simon Garber and Juan Monteverde while shutting down the Jan Pamela offense.

Monteverde’s goal from the field was all of the productive offense produced in the second chukker as Yellow Cab’s lead rose to 3-.5.

Pablo Spinacci added another goal to the Yellow Cab total, but Jan Pamela finally got its offense rolling.  Steve Dalton added a pair of goals (one from the field and another on a 40-yard penalty shot).  Wesley Bryan and Wayne Garrison added single goals and at the end of the first half Jan Pamela rode off of the field with a paper-thin 4.5-5 lead over Yellow Cab.

A tuned-up Yellow Cab team took the field in the fourth chukker scoring three unanswered goals to take a 7-4.5 lead.  Monteverde scored on a penalty shot and added a goal from the field and Spinacci added his second goal of the game.

Bryan added another goal to the pot for Jan Pamela in the fifth chukker, but Yellow Cab was up for the challenge.  Spinacci added two more goals for a 9-5.5 advantage with one chukker left to play in regulation time.

Jan Pamela rallied in the sixth chukker, putting up goals from Garrison and Alejo Tarancoand a penalty goal from Dalton, but it wasn’t enough.  Time expired before Jan Pamela could complete its comeback and fell to Yellow Cab, 9-8.5.

Spinacci and Monteverde led the Yellow Cab attack with four goals apiece.  Simon Garber added a goal for the win.

Dalton was credited with three goals for Jan Pamela.  Garrison and Bryan scored two goals apiece and Taranco scored once.  Jan Pamela received .5 goals by handicap.
