From the Desert sands to the beaches of Palm Beach it was showtime .
First and most Important in my view was Fred Mannix is in the Hall of Fame , a place he could have been 10 years ago . After Carlton Beal Fred was probably the main reason the Desert lived . He supported whatever was going on no matter what, if it was Polo it was part of his time Ladies Polo , Kids Polo, FIP,Seniors Polo and he usually had a team in ever league in the Desert , that was the Green and Yellow of Fish Creek the red and white of Millarville they were involved and they probably have a semi load of trophies but they always supported the club . Even when young Fred headed South big Fred keeps it going here and there The Mannix’s can now claim ever tournament in North America I think as young Julian is Champ of US Open and Fred 2 came very close to conquering South Americas grand Prize Palermo losing the finals to guess who? Well done FRED MANNIX you deserve it in ever way . Local news it was the Colorado Cowgirl winning the 12 goal finals at EPC over Lady Carole and her Edilewise Team and next door it was Madelyn Cobb the Youngest Cougar and Jared Sheldon stopping the Realtors of Gordon in the finals at the huge crowd and the greatest looking Polo club in the World called EMPIRE polo. Up the coast at Santa Barbara it was Jared’s Dad Billy stopping El Dorado in the Interscholastic indoor tournament Regional finals with Molly Agee,Ali Mobtaker, Theo Anastos and Skylar Dale well done and good luck in the National finals. It was a great tournament and guess who made it that way Sir John as in Westley .Santa Barbara coach and Manger of so many Champions .
Down South in the 20 goal finals it was a bit of a shock as 7 players in the finals there was one yes one Argentine Polo player as Valiente failed to put another Silver in the closet as Gillian Johnston daughter of super Patron Ski was the winner of the big one and with her was Mason Wroe,Sugar Erskine and Julio Arellano well done as they stopped the Rocky Mountain express of a double Jornayvaz Robert and Bob, Santi Torres and Sapo Cassett. Well done Coca Cola . The twenty six got atarted and it brings some drama rel soon as Hall of Fame Mannix will have a problem in the Semis his two Sons Julian and Fred 2 are playing each other One is all Mannix the other a split with Audi should be a dandy . The West continues to grow as more Polo fields come on board and the price of hay is like 20 bucks a bale cheaper than the East and we do not have rain-outs or even that cold of Weather so think about it to late this Winter to see the Desert or at least play there but Santa Barbara and San Diego Petaluma and Temecula are still wide Open for a spectacular Summer so no worries give us a call.
