The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

Remember this date … it may well be the return of Desert Polo as the place to be. It was a great sight to see polo people everywhere,  from all around.  Russ Sheldon brought in several newbies from Poway Polo Club in the San Diego area. Eric and Chip brought an entire camp in from the big city trailers of Texas.  Players from Arizona, Washington, Oregon and Utah were zooming by so there is no doubt that Empire and Al Haagen are back!  The Lions are purring and no doubt will soon roar as the polo fields, beautifully landscaped grounds and a new Night Club called the “Date Shed” are all moving forward to make it a new decade Polo in the desert area.   This effort can do nothing but HELP everyone in the game.

Polo needs new blood and both clubs El Dorado and Empire have brought in people to do this. Eric of WrightWay Polo and Kyle Fargy all the way from Calgary, so we can see Polo graow and thats what it is all about.

Big thanks to Empire, the Haagen’s and a staff that cares about Polo.  Thanks for making a huge giveaway weekend with Free Polo, Stalls and even a fun BBQ for all cooked by Wild Billy Ramos. Guess what?  There is one more day of it: TODAY !! If you are close by, stop in just look for the Lions and go between them and you will be THERE.

Down South it was Young Julian Mannix and Alegria losing in the semis of the big time Ellerstina Gold Cup, which was won by a Brazilian Polo team Sao Jose. The Argentine Open the big one and it starts next Saturday, so you are headed South it is worth a look, I guarantee it.

see ya
