On Sunday, July 30, San Diego’s Suzanne Figi, Graham Bray, and Graham’s 13 year old son, Jesse came to play for Na Pali Properties and challenge Icing On The Cake’s team of Krista Bonaguidi, Scott Sims, Ron Bonaguidi and Mike Conant. Scott played chukkers 1 and 4; Ron played chukkers 2 and 3.
Suzanne is an aggressive player who loves the game. Graham is the polo manager of her club and is a 5 goal player. According to Suzanne, young Jesse “has turned into a real pistol on the polo field.” He certainly lived up to that accolade this Sunday. He scored 3 goals including the tie breaker which gave Na Pali victory in the 4th chukker.
Ron Bonaguidi is the Kauai Polo Club President. Ron and Krista are the husband and wife team largely responsible for making Kauai Polo a reality. Scott Sims is an equine veterinarian well known on Kauai for donating his time trying to save Longshot, an albatross who was hit by a car and severely injured. Mike Conant is a 5 goal player who likes returning to Kauai almost as much as he loves playing in New Zealand.
