Have you ever decided to paint a room in your home a color and it ended up needing at least 5 coats of paint until you got the color of that little square you picked out at a Home Depot or Lowe’s? Here is a tip to save you time and money.

Walls, being a porous structure, tend to soak in the paint and it takes quite a few coats until you get the correct color. Try using a primer that is tinted with the color you are trying to achieve. The primer will close the pores in the wall so when it comes time to apply the paint you should really only need 1 coat or possibly 2 coats.  By using the primer you saved an average of $300. The cost of primer is far less than that of an additional couple gallons of paint.
