Postage Stamp Farm (Annabelle Gundlach, Brandon Phillips, Mariano Aguerre and Kris Kampsen) gave up eight first half goals but outscored Travieso (Tony Calle, Hugo Barabucci, Sebastian Merlos and Marquitos Alberdi) 7-3 in the final three chukkers to maintain their perfect record and end preliminary round play in the 2017 Ylvisaker Cup at 3-0.

Sebastian Merlos scored six of Travieso’s eight goals in the first three chukkers as Postage Stamp Farm struggled to find an effective attack.  Marquitos Alberdi and Hugo Barabucci each added a goal aw Travieso rode out to a commanding 8-4 halftime lead.

The Postage Stamp Farm offense struggled in the opening chukkers, with Kris Kampsen scoring all four of the team’s goals (three on penalty conversions) in the opening three periods of play.

Travieso got into foul trouble in the fourth chukker and Postage Stamp Farm and Kampsen took advantage of the errors.  Kampsen converted four more penalty shots for goals, and teammate Joto Chavanne scored once from the field.  Merlos connected on a 60-yard penalty shot but at the end of the period, Postage Stamp Farm had tied the score at 9-9.

Goals were hard to come by in the fifth with Kampsen adding two more penalty goals, connecting once from the 30-yard mark and another from 40-yards out.  Alberdi scored his second goal of the day and Travieso was awarded a goal on a Penalty 1.  The score remained tied at 11-11.

Kris Kampsen scored eleven of his team’s 12 goals in their 12-11 win over Travieso Monday morning.

A solid defensive effort by Postage Stamp Farm in the final seven minutes of play was complimented by Kampsen’s eleventh goal of the game and the final goal of the game as Postage Stamp Farm recorded their third win against no losses, 12-11

Kampsen scored ten of his game-high eleven goals from the penalty line with Joto Chavanne adding the only other Postage Stamp Farm goal for the win.  Merlos led the Travieso attack, scoring four of his seven goals on penalty shots.  Alberdi added two goals and Barabucci was credited with one goal in a losing effort.

Tonkawa 8, La Indiana 7

In the closing game of the day, Argentine 10-goaler Sapo Caset scored five goals for Tonkawa (Jeff Hildebrand, Sapo Caset, Costi Caset and Facundo Obregon) with the most important one coming in sudden-death overtime in their 8-7 win over La Indiana (Michael Bickford, Jeff Hall, Mike Azzaro and Gringo Colombres).

Ten-goaler Sapo Caset led the Tonkawa charge in the team’s 8-7 win over La Indiana.

The win boosts the Tonkawa record to 2-1 while La Indiana suffered their second loss in three games (1-2).
