Dudley Cup

23 teams, 90 players, 450 ponies and 20 matches made up the annual Countess of Dudley Cup held in glorious weather on the last weekend in May.

Thank you to players, spectators and organisers for a fantastic weekend of polo to finish the Autumn Season on, that saw Jemalong Polo Club’s team crowned NSW 12 goal champions.

Winter Break
Polo players and their ponies takes a break in NSW over winter but will start up again in August with tournaments in the north of the State. During this time many of the professional players head to England or nearer to home, Queensland.

Wirragulla host The Hunter Polo Challenge
Make a weekend of it at Wirragulla’s tournament on 22 and 23 September at their Tabbil Creek ground near Dungog. It is hoped that many travelling Australian and international players will return to play, plus a new junior game has been introduced.

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

The Countess of Dudley Cup was won by Jemalong who defeated Goulburn in the final 11-8.
Jemalong: Marcus Kahlbetzer, Richard Rawlings, Juan Losada, Johnny Kahlbetzer
Goulburn: Callum MacLachlan, Stirling McGregor, Simon Walker, Angus Campbell

The LT Watson Memorial Trophy was won by Millamolong who defeated Windsor in the subsidiary final:

Millamolong: Rick McCarthy, Robert Ballard, Dirk Gould, Wallace Ashton
Windsor: Chris Hannon, Hamish McGregor, Adam Tolhurst, David Marshall

The finalists in the B Grade, playing for the Sir JJ Garvan Cup were:
Gundalong: Claudia Graham, Lachie Graham, Ed Goold, Angus Graham
Adelaide: Danny Damon, Marty Ingham, Robert Ballard, Mrk Lindh
