Greetings from the Governor,

Team USPA will again this year have strong representation from the Pacific Circuit. Miguel Questel, Harrison Sanmiego, Patrick Uretz and Daniel Galindo will be representing the sunny state of California. Congratulations and you are in for a tremendous, growing experience.

USPA Visits were more than ever this year which exemplifies that the Pacific Circuit’s standing in the USPA is growing by leaps and bounds. 1, Justin Powers made four NCDC trips to the Pacific Coast Circuit (PCC), 2. Peter Rizzo, CEO of the USPA, was on the victorious Air Force team at the Military Polo Event at Poway. This was the second year in a row he has played in the event and his team has won, 3. Amanda Hersey has made three trips to the Pacific Circuit, organizing two polo matches featuring Team USPA, conducting a USPA Today! event and assisting with featured marketing for a signature polo event, 4. Justin and Amanda presented a USPA Today! event and Team USPA Lecture Series in the Desert during the winter, 5. Over $ 58,000 in PDI Support came to the state this year, 6.Over $30,000 of umpire support came to the state, 7. Steve Lane and Bradley Biddle were in the desert for the season and came back to the state for Umpire Clinics at California Polo Club, Orange County Polo Club, Menlo Polo Club and others, 8. The Annual USPA Board of Governors Fall meetings were held in Santa Barbara, CA, 9. USPA’s Wilbur O’Ferrall has conducted 14 Junior and Pony Club clinics to support growth in the Pacific Coast Circuit., and 10. $50,000 of Regional Polo Center funds came to the state.

There is a direct correlation between the amount of USPA administrative and financial support our circuit receives and the time all the Pacific Circuit members spend on USPA Committee work. People such as Pat Nesbitt, Dan Walker, Richard Caleel, Scott Walker, Eric Wright, Max Duarte, Heather Perkins, Rodney Fragodt and many others are major contributors of their time and resources to the USPA.

Temecula Valley Polo Club announces the opening of a new polo club in Temecula. This is a direct result of the efforts of Scott Walker, USPA Lt. Governor, Geraldine Strunsky Schumacher and others. It is located at Galway Downs equestrian facility. The new grass field will open in May, 2013. The hybrid Bermuda grass field was installed this last summer by Ken Smith, owner of Galway Downs. Views of the field have been posted on Face Book under Geraldine Strunsky Schumacher.

There will be an open house this Sunday the 11th of November at 4pm at Galway Downs. Please RSVP to Geraldine (760) 832-5297 or geraldine.schumacher@ymail.com by Friday so they can get a headcount on refreshments. The address of Galway Downs is 38801 Los Corralitos Rd., Temecula.

Empire and Eldorado Polo Clubs are designing their seasons for the winter. Check out their websites and call them for information.

See you on the field,

Denny Geiler, Governor
