This project needs our our help. The company that is producing this documentary is not a giant company with deep pockets. They are producing this documentary on a shoe string budget. They are giving more than they are receiving and yet it is a project that will help polo and all players in the sport. We, the polo industry, need to assist them as much as possible. Many of you have met Michele Everett and Nathaniel Mcculagh at various polo events across the country filming and working. If we can help them make this documentary happen, it can be a big plus for our sport. I think the production team had hoped the PTF or USPA might jump in and try to support this project, but it did not happen. As usual the future of U.S. Polo and U.S. Players is not part of our sport’s executives plan. However, I think if enough people understand what there trying to do it may help. This documentary can get a lot of attention and media coverage of the sport of polo. If the general public can learn more about polo it may be a gateway to the future and mass media coverage of the sport of polo. It is definitely a way to get attention on the extreme sport of polo and make coverage of the sport more accesible to the general public.

The two people who are making this documentary are young and hardworking. They have business and film production experience. They are willing to talk to anyone who can help them make this documentary happen. Please contact them for more information.

Here is a summary of the Project:

First-ever documentary of Team USA Polo promises a thrilling ride.

Production has begun on Take It To The Boards, a film documenting the exhilarating journey of young polo players competing on behalf of the United States in the world’s most prestigious polo tournament – the Federation of International Polo World Cup VIII, scheduled for play in Mexico in 2007.

From the initial player selection process, to traveling abroad for tournament play, Take It To The Boards is a revealing account of what it takes, both on and off the field, to compete in the World Cup of Polo. Surrounded by wealth and power, but not necessarily born of it, the Team USA players only succeed through hard work and determination. This is the true account of horse and rider in the sport of polo.

Take It To The Boards supports the efforts of polo players and fans around the world to reinstate polo as an Olympic sport. A portion of proceeds from this production will be donated to the Team USA players and to further promote the sport of polo in the US and abroad.

Film release date: Spring 2008
