On April 8th 2007 it was back in the saddle probably not the same without Skeeter, but hey we were on the field and at 10 a.m. It was a bonafide battle as Skeeterville lost to the defending champs Las Monjitas in overtime as they did miss the Bullet Skeeter Johnston for their trademark bullet plays. Both teams move to the next round.

In the second game it was Gillian Johnston, despite all, leading her Bendabout team over a very tough Orchard Hill as both will advance to the quarter finals. In the 3 p.m. game it was close, but it was artificial and that makes you wonder. Was the famous player thrown out of the U.S. Open any different than what happened in this match? The player who was punished only hurt himself and teammates in that game. This game was hurting another Patron, but thats the way it is when its a human decision. Its all history and we shall see if it comes back to bite them you know where.

One of the most moving moments I have ever seen was a riderless horse being led on the field in Skeeter’s memory and it was his favorite horse I heard. It was a lasting and very well done moment for Skeeter’s friends and family.

Action heads into week 3 of the U.S. Open with 3 teams out and 11 with a chance to make the final 8 positions for the Quarter Finals. Many have already done that, so its more like 5 have a chance for 2 or 3 spots and its a double header Tuesday at 3 and 5 p.m. so see you there. See ya.
