Playing in the shadows of the Tortugas Open, the four teams competing for a spot in the Hurlingham Open and the Argentine Open got underway in the qualifying rounds of play Monday afternoon on the Palermo polo grounds.

In the opening game of the day Chapaleufú (Alberto Heguy, Jr., Guillermo Terrera, Rodrigo Andrade and Eduardo Heguy) manhandled Las Rosas (Franco Gai, Manuel Crespo, Marcos Di Paola and Joao Ganon), 13-6 while in the day’s 2:30pm contest Cria Yatay (Lucas James, Magoo Laprida, Joaquin Pittaluga and Inaki Laprida) slipped past La Irenita ( Juan Ruiz Guiñazu, Juan Martin Zavaleta, Matías MacDonough and Clemente Zavaleta), 16-15.

The qualifiers will continue on Monday, October 3rd with Cria Yatay meeting Las Rosas in a noon contest while Chapaleufú will battle La Irenita in a 2:30pm contest.
