Last week I told you one day you are a hero and the next not. Sunday was one of those days. It started early as Gypsy, who have 1 win thus far, this season, got their second. Guess who the only team they could beat was? It was a team who has not been beat yet by any other team . . . Madison Square. For the second time, Gypsy won and Madison lost, but thats Polo. A fired up Gypsy controlled all but the 1st and 4th chukkers, never letting Madison Square get past them by more than 1. In the end they were up by 3 as the final horn blew. So now they are both 1 & 1. We are off to game 3 for the 12- to 14-goal league. In game 2 it was 1 & 0 Corleone/SouthWind vs. Hanalei Bay at 0 & 1. Hanalei got blown out on Friday, but here they came and its a big win for them. They come up with a WIN and Wild Bill Freeman suffers his first loss. Both of these teams are 1 & 1. The featured match of the day was Tritech vs. Hidden Creek. Boss Man Silent Chris Maloney of Tritech set the tone early scoring 2 very good goals. One was an awesome play across goal and tailing it in for score #1. Smokin’ Joe Henderson and company got rollin’ and led by 1 at 1/2 time, but the Doctor (Gaston Von Wernich) and Brother (Federico) with Mr. Amp (Alvaro Tadeo) got back on track and finished with a win by 2.
It was avery good day. The fields played well and the polo ran. Now Hidden Creek is the Cellar Dweller and Tritech is on top with 1 & 2 and 2 & 0. Everybody has 3 games to play before they crow much.
In the 6-goal it was like I said, different everyday. It was Dudley’s Casa Blanca turning the Wolf (Ashton Wolf) loose and eating up the Friendly/Surfer Doc team. They go to 1 & 1 and Friendly Chevy/SurferDoc goes south to 0 & 2.. The other cellar dwellers continued on the bottom as Ohana rose from the dead and buried Princeps/CNS to go to 1 & 1. Princeps/CNS stays down at 0 & 2. At about 11:30 it was a rematch of last weeks finals where Rick Paicius and Theo went from up town to the Ghettos in 24 hours or maybe less. They are on the High rise in Manhattan again as they took Adeptus and showed OC Polo is still in town despite losing by 8 or 9 last week. With an awesome effort from both Rick and Theo it was Nick (Nicolai Galindo) who showed Bro (Carlitos Galindo) the stick. The Surfer cleaned the beach as they went to 2 & 0. Ms. Wilson and Adeptus had a hiccup and go to 1 & 1. In the final of the 6-goal it was Mrs. Ellie (Ellen Greenhill) playing like a monster, but she could not stop the M&M’s. As not dead Jofie (Joseph Stuart) came blowing back as Mr. Amp (Alvaro Tadeo) and Juan Ho (Juan Jose Gonzalez) kept boogieing down the green. It got close as Mrs. Ellie fired up the Montevede squad, but came up one short against it all. So as you know, its a long ways from over. On Friday the show starts again and it will be fireworks on El Camino Real I promise.
ITS A PURE PLEASURE TO SEE 10 cars in a row turn left on El Camino Real to the Polo grounds. It was not for soccer. They came to wacth polo and lots of them. So be there. There is a reason they are stopping by. ITS A VERY GOOD TIME!
Xee ya Friday and OH YES there is a PARTY.
