Its Tri Tech out in front, but Hanalei Bay and Gypsy are right there. Madison Square is looking to get off the rail. It is going to be a very good day of Polo in San Diego today. There is no rain in sight and lots of parties this weekend where the surf meets the turf and the turf is where the action is. It starts at 11 am with Sir Sean Keys (Hidden Creek) trying to leave the cellar to make a fight out of it with the Bones (Ron Bonaguidi of Hanalei Bay) who wants to plug the Creek and try to get to the finals. Sir Sean needs to show where Hidden Creek really is, on a mountain top not the bottom of the canyon.
In the next game it is Wild Bill Freeman (Corleone Polo) and the Pretty Lady Lisa Bosstick (Madison Square) getting in the mix at 1 pm. The Lady has to win to get a chance to defend her title for the 3rd time. Wild Bill Freeman and Chris Collins have not let anyone by without a big fight. In the final game of the day before everybody heads to the Party its Susana Figi and Gypsy with the Surfer (Diego Cossio) in charge trying to stop Silent Chris Maloney and the Doctor (Gaston Von Wernich) who have been the best thus far. Ms. Figi has been on their tail all the way and could have been in the lead without a wayward mallet last week. So hang on to your hats. Things are shaking in San Diego.
The 4-goal picks their final 2 tomorrow. Its been a magnificent Fall season in San Diego. It looks to be bigger and better with 2008 bringing a huge sponsor in to make it the PLACE TO BE in 08. It may be 8 weeks in 08.
Down south with their win, the Gringo’s and Algeria get the weekend off and get ready for the Araya’s who play the Lobos on Sat. in BA. Rumor is Ruki was unstoppable in Argentina on Wednesday and the Little Mac (Frederick Mannix, Jr.) was making it happen. Back East its Silver Cup time in Aikenas they get underway today as well. In Houston I just do not know what’s going on, does anybody?? Santa Barbara is moving on to their 3rd finals this Sunday. The ladies are hitting town in San Diego next week, so its a very good time to see polo somewhere.
See ya at the party.
