Turnberry Tower Presents the 13th Annual Houston Ladies Championship Polo Tournament – A Tiffany Polo Classic Event
Turnberry Tower is proud to present the 13th Annual Houston Polo Club Ladies Tournament and WCT Qualifier, to be held November 7th through 11th, in Houston, Texas. The Houston Polo Club welcomes Turnberry Tower, a luxury high rise residence located in Houston’s Galleria, as the 2007 Presenting Sponsor, and Tiffany and Co. as the Title Sponsor and host of this year’s Calcutta and Kickoff Party. Eleven teams will compete for engraved Tiffany and Co. silver trophies, La Martina custom gear and tack, and Catena USA watches. The charity beneficiary for this year’s event is the Fresh Arts Coalition of Houston.
Houston enters its third year as a Qualifier event in the Women’s Championship Tournament (WCT) Series. Six of the eleven teams are in the WCT Qualifier bracket and are led by top women players including Lesley Masterton Fong-Yee, Caroline Anier, and Sherri-Lynn Hensman. All women playing the WCT Qualifier League will be eligible to play in the WCT Finals, to be held in April 2008 in Wellington, Florida. An additional five teams will compete in the Invitational polo bracket, at the 0-1 goal level.
Special events during the week will include the Kickoff Party hosted by Tiffany and Co. on November 7th, and the Tiffany Polo Classic Sunday Brunch and Tournament Finals at the Houston Polo Club on November 11th.
