Entries Due March 8, 2011

1. Halter 2-4 Yrs Old (mare & geldings)
The purpose of the Polo Pony Halter Class is to preserve the ideal polo pony type for selection in breeding and training. This Halter Class is reserved for horses that were born between 2007-2009 that are being used for polo, either as breeding stock, in training or playing. Horses will be judged on conformation for use as a polo horse and/or use as suitable breeding stock to preserve a desirable polo pony type, which includes but is not limited to structurally correct legs and feet, soundness at a walk and trot and balance in body structure. The horses will also be judged on their physical appearance and overall condition.

2. Halter 5 Yrs and Older (mares & geldings)
The purpose of the Polo Pony Halter Class is to preserve the ideal polo pony type for selection in breeding and
training. This Halter Class is reserved for horses that were born 2006 or before that are being used for polo, either as breeding stock, in training or playing. Horses will be judged on conformation for use as a polo horse and/or use as suitable breeding stock to preserve a desirable polo pony type, which includes but is not limited to structurally correct legs and feet, soundness at a walk and trot and balance in body structure. The horses will also be judged on their physical appearance and overall condition.

3. Halter Stallions 2 Yrs and Older
The purpose of this Halter Class is to preserve the ideal polo pony stallion type for selection in breeding and training. This Halter Class is reserved for stallions born 2009 or before that are being used for polo, either as breeding stock, in training or playing. Stallions will be judged on conformation which includes but is not limited to structurally correct legs and feet, athletic balance in body structure and soundness at a walk and trot. The stallions will also be judged on their temperament, physical appearance and overall condition.

4. Polo Futurity 3-5 Yrs Old
The purpose of the Polo Futurity Class is to showcase the ability and trained skills of a “green” polo pony. The
Polo Futurity Class is reserved for mares, geldings and stallions that were born between 2006-2008 that are being used for polo, either in training or playing. This class is a mounted performance class that will include
specific maneuvers that are required to be performed and a freestyle option at the rider’s discretion. The horses will also be judged on their physical appearance and overall condition as well as their willingness to perform the required maneuvers and freestyle work.*Required Maneuvers will be posted on the website americanpolohorse.com March 15, 2011 and will be available at the show grounds on show day March 29, 2011.

5. APHA Nations Cup
This class is for teams (of 3 riders/ 3 horses per team) to enter representing their country and is a mounted
performance class. This class will include a combination of riding and horse skills utilized in the sport of polo. Teams will compete in heats against each other to determine the winner. Team names must include a country and be entered under the name of a polo club, polo organization or hometown in that country. Required team rider attire includes; polo jerseys, white pants, polo boots and a helmet. Required polo tack for the pony includes; 4 bandages, polo bridle and saddle and tails must be tied or taped up.

6. Groom’s Competition
Each Groom Team will be required to follow a designated course that includes a showcase of the skills required of a top groom in a game situation. Groom Teams will be competing in heats against one or more Groom’s Teams. The fasted clocked time will determine the winner. Each Groom Team will be required to wear the same color shirt, t-shirt, sweater or jacket and must enter under a polo team name, player name, sponsor name or chosen team name. Shirts must be tucked in at the start of the event. Each Groom Team will consist of 3 grooms and be required to provide two ponies for their own team’s use in the competition as well as: one polo bridle (including martingale, straight rein and draw rein), saddle, breast collar, pad, girth and over girth and 4 bandages for the pony to be tacked up with. * Groom’s Competition Course will be posted on the website americanpolohorse.com March 15, 2011 and will be available at the show grounds on show day March 29, 2011.

7. Polo Performance Open 4 Yrs and Older
The purpose of the Polo Performance Open Class is to showcase the ability and trained skills of a “made” polo pony. The Polo Performance Open Class is reserved for mares, geldings and stallions that were born 2007 and before, that are being used for polo. This is a mounted performance class that will include specific maneuvers that are required to be performed (including some at speed) and a freestyle option at the rider’s discretion. The horses will be judged on their physical appearance and overall condition as well as their willingness to perform the required maueuvers and freestyle work. Required Maneuvers will be posted on the website americanpolohorse.com March 15, 2011 and will be available at the show grounds on show day March 29, 2011.

NATIONAL POLO PONY SHOW INFORMATION
For APHA registered horses entered in the show, all show win records will be included going forward on the registered horse’s profile and future sales page as part of the “Polo Pony Black Type” program. APHA Registered horses entered in more than one class will be eligible for Grand and Reserve Grand Champion Awards.

**New for 2011** STALLION ALLEY **New for 2011**
Stallion owners will have the opportunity to enter their stud in Stallion Alley and be included in the stallion preview parade before the start of the show. Stallion Alley is a barn at the National Polo Pony Show dedicated to presenting the polo stallions in America, where owners will have the opportunity to distribute breeding, offspring and sales info to spectators and horseman at the show. Stallions do not have to be entered in a class at the show to be eligible for inclusion in Stallion Alley. All stallions must be American Polo Horse Registered to be eligible to participate in Stallion Alley.
