FRIDAY WAS A VERY GOOD DAY A LITTLE WIND BUT THE NEW EMPIRE ARENA WAS AWESOME MOST THOUGHT ;
THE RESULTS FRIDAY:
El Dorado stayed just ahead in the last chukkar to stop the young Ladies of the Central Coast in a great showing by a team of all Ladies and the oldest being 12 , so ED goes to round 2 on the winners side .
Bella Vista of Santa Barbara Area came flying thru with a big win over San Diego in a very close one as Malya Roddick grand daughter of the famous Gordon Roddick showed Gramps how its done the bad luck in this is they have to meet El Dorado in the semis but thy are game .
Last years Runners up Poway were in no mood for waiting as the seasoned but still young combo of Questel,Finch ,harrision and Lady Hollie took no prisoners as they rolled over a young but fighting all Girls team out of Oakdale the big travlers for this one
In another big one and a bit off a shocker for many Specttors it was some hard riding Ladies and one young man out of Lakeside putting the stop on Santa Barbara one of the early favorites to make the finals these Lady’s did not match up well in size about a foot shorter but maybe a couple feet quicker and a whole lot tougher and they held on for a huge win but now face the problems of Poway in round 2 .
Round 2 has Mother Nature to deal with and a full day of Polo becomes a 1/2 day in the wetlands , It did not stop these Young Guns the way they see it the fields the same for both but size may matter when the mud has put the weight on the ball . After some big efforts by all involved action begin about 1.30 pm and the show was on at the old Stadium next door out of the kindness of Tom Tresari of HITS giving the venue to use it and a lot of help from George Dill to get it ready the games were on ;
First Semi was Bella Vista with Kenally,Roddick and Fairbanks meeting the big guns of El dorado in the end they were just not the mudders that ED was and they tried hard but were on the wrong end and El Dorado got the W and heads to the finals .
second Semi was Poway trying to stop the upset minded Lakeside who had showed so well against SB a day earlier but their would be no surprises as Poway was ready and they stopped the hard charging Lady’s of Lakeside and
young gun Shelby to end the road to the finals and this sets up a big one for Sun as Poway and Eldorado hook up in this finals .
so if your looking for action head over to the Arena Sun Morning it should be fun
