The finals of the Governor’s Cup took place on Field 1 at Eldorado on April 3rd. The Blazers played Deco Polo. The Blazers team was composed of Pat Powell, Patrick Uretz, Alvaro Tadeo and Kyle Fargey. Deco Polo was David Ragland, Santiago Taher, Rodrego Moran and Charlie Peterson.
The teams were evenly matched and the game was decided in the closing seconds of the 4th Chukker when Patrick Uretz scored on a deep neck shot to put the game out of reach. The final score was 8 to 6 Blazers.
This was the 6th try for Tadeo in the Governor’s Cup and the 4th try for Uretz, but apparently persistence pays off. Kyle played an outstanding game seeming to be in on all the most important plays of the game and richly deserved being named MVP. A Mike Ward horse ridden by Tadeo was named Best Playing Pony.
In the Lt. Governor’s Cup the Menlo/Coldwell Banker team of Madelyn Cobb, Wiley Uretz, Manny Rodriguez and Dan Rowlands defeated a strong Casa Blanca team in another game that went back and forth. Ronai White and the rest of the team deserve a salute for a hard fought game. Dan Rowlands was named MVP.
Great to see Eldorado Results on Polozone, Good job Mike, Thank You Lyn.
